Chicken Alfredo Pasta

The World Pasta day Holiday began in 1955 through the first ever World Pasta Congress held in Rome, Italy, where 40 international pasta makers were put together by the International Pasta Organization, to pay tribute to one of the most popular, easy and versatile Italian dish, called pasta.

To celebrate World Pasta day, try something new, fancy yet affordable pasta dish, the Chicken Aflredo pasta. Follow the instruction below and adjust according to your taste.

Ingredients:

  • 2 tbsp Arla unsalted butter
  • 500g E&L Chicken Leg Fillet, cubed
  • ½ tsp dried oregano
  • ½ tsp dried basil
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp pepper
  • 500g pasta of your choice, cooked and drained
  • Chopped fresh parsely
  • ¼ cup parmesan cheese

For Sauce

  • 2 tbsp Arla unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 ½ tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups Arla milk
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp pepper
  • ½ tsp dried basil
  • ½ cup parmesan cheese
  • 1 can of mushroom (optional)

Direction:

  1. Melt the butter in a large pan, then add the chicken fillet. Season with the salt, pepper, oregano, and basil and cook for 8-10 minutes, or until fully cooked. Remove the chicken and set aside.
  2. For the sauce: In the same pan, melt another butter, add the garlic and cook until it softens. Stir in half of the flour at a time until incorporated. Gradually pour in the milk, stirring between additions, and cook until fully incorporated and the sauce begins to thicken. Season with the salt, pepper, mushroom, and basil. Add the Parmesan cheese and stir until melted.
  3. In a large bowl, pour the sauce over cooked pasta, then add the chicken and toss well to combine. Add the parsley and Parmesan and toss again. Serve while it's hot. Enjoy
