E&L Roasted Chicken

Here’s a sure win recipe to prepare for your Christmas get together : E&L’s Roasted Chicken! See below for the cooking instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 190 degrees Celsius 
  2. In a bowl, combine salt, ground black pepper, and garlic powder then mix.
  3. Rub the mixture around the chicken.
  4. in a new bowl, combine melted butter, dried thyme, and lemon zest and mix well.
  5. Loosen the skin of the chicken and spread the lemon zest-butter-thyme mixture in between the skin and flesh.
  6. Stuff the quartered lemon, celery stalks, and onion in the chicken and secure by tying the legs together using a kitchen thread.
  7. Bake / Roast for 60 to 65 minutes.
  8. Turn the oven off and take the chicken out.
  9. Remove the thread and place in serving plate.
  10. Serve hot. Share and enjoy with your family!
