Rellenong Pusit Recipe
Rellenong Pusit, or Stuffed Squid, is one of our country's most popular seafood dishes. Dipped in toyomansi (soy sauce and calamansi) with chopped tomatoes, onions, and chilies, this classic Pinoy dish is typically served during special occasions like Filipino holiday celebrations and birthdays.
Ingredients:
1/2 cup of all-purpose flour
10 tbsp. of cooking oil
1 carrot, minced
1 onion, minced
4 cloves of garlic, minced
2 stalks of celery, chopped
1 tomato, diced
1 lemon
1/2 cup of soy sauce
1 egg
Salt and pepper to taste
Directions:
- In a bowl, marinate the E&L Squid Tubes with soy sauce and lemon juice for about 30 minutes.
- Heat oil and sauté garlic, onion, tomato, and celery. Add in the E&L Ground Pork and cook for about 5 minutes or until brown.
- Put in the carrot and season with salt and pepper. Cook for 10 to 15 more minutes, turn off the heat and let it cool.
- Stuff the E&L Squid Tubes with the cooked meat and seal them using toothpicks. Make sure the fillings inside are secured with toothpicks.
- Dredge the squid tubes in beaten egg, then coat with flour. In a separate pan, heat oil and fry the squid. In a small bowl, combine tomatoes, onions, soy sauce, calamansi, and chilies for the dip. Serve hot and enjoy!
